The Wimbledon Symphony Orchestra’s summer concert will take place at St Paul’s Church, 120 Augustus Road, Wimbledon on Saturday 18 June at 7.30pm.
WSO is delighted to welcome soloist Charlotte Saluste-Bridoux to play Mendelssohn's violin concerto as part of our Proms Classics concert.
The second half of the concert will feature the overture to The Wreckers by Ethel Smyth which is being staged at the Glyndebourne Opera festival in a new production.
To enhance our audience's experience our conductor Ed Whitehead will give a pre-concert talk entitled 'Ethel Smyth: The Hidden Musical Genius of the 20th Century'. This will take place before the concert at 6.15pm in the church hall and is free to all ticket holders.
The second half of the concert will conclude with some of the classics known from The Last Night of The Proms.
